The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the effective operation and management of the maintenance department at Woodland Gourmet. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the company's equipment, facilities, and production lines are in excellent working condition. The Senior Maintenance Manager will report to the Senior Director of Operations and will collaborate closely with the Maintenance Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision: Supervise the maintenance department staff, including technicians and support personnel. Provide guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
Budget Management: Assist in the development and management of the maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective operations while maintaining high standards of quality. Tracking expenses and overseeing the budget for maintenance
Maintenance Programs: Develop work plans for maintenance (PM, PdM and Corrective work), providing the necessary information to enable the efficient scheduling, assigning and execution of maintenance work. Managing equipment reliability and meeting key performance metrics while staying within the Reliability & Maintenance and Capital Project budget - including working with vendors to ensure best prices and swift delivery.

Equipment Inspection: Oversee regular inspections of production equipment and facilities to identify potential issues and coordinate repairs and replacements as necessary.

Spare Parts Inventory: Manage and optimize spare parts inventory, ensuring the availability of necessary components to support maintenance activities.
Vendor Relations: Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance and repair services, negotiating contracts and ensuring timely completion of work.
Continuous Improvement: Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance processes, reduce downtime, and increase equipment efficiency.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment manuals, and relevant documentation to track performance and facilitate future maintenance.
Emergency Response: Respond to equipment breakdowns and emergency maintenance requests, ensuring quick and effective solutions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field is preferred.
Proven experience in maintenance management within a manufacturing or food processing environment.
Strong knowledge of maintenance best practices, safety standards, and compliance requirements. Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS). Availability for full-time, onsite work in Waukegan, Illinois.
