JOB PURPOSE: The Shipping Lead will coordinate employee activities and orders to ensure maximum shipping efficiencies while in accordance with our quality and food safety standards.

JOB PURPOSE: The Shipping Lead will coordinate employee activities and orders to ensure maximum shipping efficiencies while in accordance with our quality and food safety standards.
Essential duties and responsibilities
- Coordinate employee activities and product handling of an assigned shipping area; works along with shipping employees
- Utilize software to ensure that all materials are properly verified to reflect reported inventory
- Ensure area and crew are properly set up and they are provided all the necessary tools to perform the essential functions of their role
- Receive instruction from the Operations Manager and Shipping Supervisor for orders that need to be processed
- Monitor orders which can encompass out of stock, repacks, transfers, and product moving between buildings
- Prioritize order processing in relation to shipping requirements and shipping schedules
- Assist in training new hires and/or temporary employees; measure and track performance
- Monitor workflow and crew as needed to ensure even workflow and efficiency; coach and recognize where appropriate
- Accomplishes warehouse objectives by leading, training, assigning, coaching, and counseling.
- Perform daily 10-minute meetings with employees before the start of the shift and participate in weekly Lead meetings.
- Maintain communication with necessary departments to ensure information and orders are processed in a timely fashion
- Ensure all employees safely operate equipment used on the line, as well as following all safety procedures
- Maintain clean work area clean
- Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as assigned
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
- High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred
- Leadership experience preferred
- Must have working knowledge of general warehouse operations, food industry experience a plus
- Computer experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Good Leadership / Team building skills
- Must be flexible with hours, a possibility for OT
- Ability to lift 55lbs (anything over 55lbs, team lift)
- Must follow all WF GMP’s and work consistently with all food safety, quality and sanitation requirements
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural documents
- Understand the basics of scale operations, weights, and pallet measurements
- Ability to prioritize, learn quickly, and multi-task
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrate good leadership skills
- Flexibility to adapt to an ever-changing environment

This position is eligible for an annual bonus (based on the incentive program terms and conditions).
