Production Supervisor 3rd shift
Third shift hours: 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM - hours may vary based on departmental needs
This position is responsible for the day-to-day management of all production activities. The Production Supervisor coordinates all daily production requirements, including line staffing, schedule attainment, training, report auditing, process improvement, root cause, and corrective actions for all production issues and all other duties as assigned.
Essential duties and responsibilities
- Ensures all quality and safety expectations are being met on the production floor
- Audits and edits production reports daily
- Collaborates with the scheduling team to ensure lines are scheduled optimally
- Uses efficiency boards on processing and blending lines to measure hourly line efficiencies daily
- Monitors production reporting for accuracy, identifies underperforming areas and puts corrective actions in place.
- Tracks daily KPIs – safety, quality, attainment of schedule, adherence to schedule, labor, and efficiencies
- Communicate with other departments regarding relevant production issues
- Assist with troubleshooting of all line equipment, ensure line employees are trained to complete set up and minor adjustments to equipment
- Maintains a safe and efficient operation in production areas and warehouses
- Training of all production employees
- Participates in all physical inventories
- Ensures all GMPs and food safety guidelines are being followed
- Motivates employees to achieve production goals and promotes a team-oriented environment
- Ensures all employees are properly trained to operate equipment safely and that all safety procedures are being followed
- Completes weekly safety audits of production areas and warehouses
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements
- College degree preferred
- Minimum 5-7 years of supervisory experience in a production or food manufacturing environment
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) desirable
- Experience taking physical inventory is desirable
Skills/Abilities
- Strong working knowledge of process improvement methods
- Strong supervisory skills
- Ability to lead and motivate staff to achieve departmental goals
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate with all levels of employees
- Proficiency with Word and Excel
