Summary
This role is responsible for establishing, fostering, and growing partnerships within the Eastern US industrial channel. An experienced Industrial Account manager will drive positive revenue, volume growth, and innovation through solution selling to large existing customers while also penetrating new accounts.  This candidate will have culinary and technical aptitude as it relates to food and food manufacturing.  These skills will be critical in discovering customer’s needs and creating custom solutions to fulfill them.

Responsibilities

  • Profitably grow via exceptional Customer Experience in existing assigned accounts: Build long term loyal relationships with assigned customer base across functions. Grow volume, profit and customer service KPIs by partnering with the customer, understanding their needs to drive competitive differentiation and innovation, developing and fostering multi-functional / level relationships and representing the voice of the customer at Woodland Gourmet. 
  • Develop Complex Accounts: Present creative solutions and drive innovation with complex accounts navigating through various departments including culinary, R&D, purchasing and operations.
  • Lead “The Customer Team” internally: Take a leadership role directing the cross-functional team of purchasing, finance, QA, culinary and manufacturing to achieve goals as related to customer solutions and satisfaction. Foster internal team relationships with the equivalent functions at the customer.  Work to move customers from transactional to collaborative partner status.
  • Strategy & Planning: Develop and execute annual business plans for strategic & growth accounts.  Align with customers to forecast demand effectively and accurately, including leveraging SIOP processes and CRM platforms.  Build, retain, and expand relationships and drive innovation with decision makers in key departments.
  • Leverage Marketing and Insight tools: Work with corporate marketing and approved agencies to build a robust knowledge base of industry. Develop sales and capability decks for assigned customers.
  • Champion Innovation: Work with the customer and internal teams (marketing, R&D, Culinary, etc) to understand market trends, understand customer needs / gaps to develop innovative, custom solutions offering sustainable competitive advantages with strategic & growth accounts.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree – Food science degree a plus (not required)
  • 5+ years experience in food ingredients or related field. Demonstrated solution selling success across multi-level departments in the industrial food processing channel. 


Knowledge & Skills Requirements
  • Proven track record of success in driving profitable top and bottom-line growth
  • Self-starter, detail oriented, excels managing complex projects
  • Advanced industry knowledge of the Industrial channel.  Ability to collaborate and communicate with multiple departments to bring successful outcomes for the customer.  Existing account relationships a plus.
  • Experience in developing customer relationships, developing, and executing sales and pricing strategies, RFPs/bids/proposals, and driving innovation. Build, retain and expand relationships with decision makers.
  • Strong negotiation skills, financial and analytical acumen.
  • Execute detailed business plans for growth accounts. Drive projects and opportunities the pipeline, while managing quarterly forecasts and sales agreements.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and planning skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of programs, with ability to adapt to and learn new applications

  • Work from home designation
  • Travel between 50% - 75%
  • Must be near a major airport
  • Access to a reliable broadband internet connection (25Mbps speed preferred for best VPN connection) and a private home workspace
