Job Title: Blender / Mixing Operator – Food Production
Job Summary
The Blender (Mixing Operator) is responsible for accurately measuring, mixing, and blending ingredients according to recipes and production specifications. This role ensures consistency, quality, and compliance with all food safety and sanitation standards in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
- Accurately weigh and measure ingredients following formulas and batch sheets
- Operate blending, mixing, or batching equipment to combine raw materials
- Follow production schedules to ensure timely batch preparation
- Monitor blending processes to ensure consistency, texture, and quality standards
- Adjust mixing times, speeds, or temperatures as needed
- Maintain accurate batch records, logs, and documentation
- Ensure proper labeling and traceability of ingredients and finished batches
- Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of mixing equipment and work area
- Adhere to food safety guidelines, including GMP, HACCP, and allergen controls
- Identify and report any deviations, contamination risks, or equipment malfunctions
- Work closely with quality assurance and production teams
- High school diploma or GED (preferred)
- Previous experience in food manufacturing, batching, or mixing preferred
- Ability to read and follow recipes, formulas, and instructions
- Basic math skills for measurements and conversions
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to follow strict recipes and procedures
- Good organizational and time-management skills
- Mechanical aptitude for operating and adjusting equipment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to stand for extended periods (8–12 hours)
- Capable of lifting 50 lbs (bags of ingredients, materials)
- Frequent bending, stooping, and repetitive movements
- Ability to work in hot or cold environments depending on production area
- Food manufacturing or processing facility
- Exposure to powders, liquids, and strong food aromas
- May require use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hairnets, gloves, safety goggles and masks
- Shift work may include nights, weekends, and overtime
- Experience with batch processing systems or automated mixing equipment
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and allergen control
- Forklift or material handling certification (a plus)
